2004 Wightman House Vineyard Pinot Noir

This Vineyard-designated wine is made solely with fruit from the Wightman House Vineyard of Susan and Michael Addison. The Addison’s retired to the valley 10 years ago, moving into their beautiful 1894 Victorian Home, and planted this two-acre vineyard which is located on the valley floor in Boonville. Wightman is the name of the original owners of this property. Wightman House Pinot Noir is entirely Martini Clone, which was first introduced into the valley by pioneering champagne makers. The grapes were picked September 3rd and cold soaked (steeped) for three days before fermentation. On September 12th they were gently pressed and put into French Oak barrels for 17 months. The wine was bottled in March 2006.

The confluence of wonderful weather and location has resulted in a complex wine with clear garnet color, aroma of red berries and vanilla. This wine has gentle tannins and layers of fruity berry flavors.
