Pinot Noir

Tasting Note rule

2004 Anderson Valley Pinot Noir

This wine is made from the grapes from four Anderson Valley vineyards. They are all small family-owned operations located in Boonville and Philo. The grapes from these vineyards were harvested over a period spanning from September 3rd to October 7th. After harvesting, the fruit was cold soaked for three days to increase extraction of varietal fruit flavors and aroma. Fermentation is then initiated using yeasts that produce velvety wines with long smooth finishes. The grapes were gently pressed after completing fermentation and placed in French Oak barrels for 16 months. It was bottled in early February and was released in October.

The blending of clones from vineyards at opposite ends of the valley has produced an aromatic wine whose essence is red cherries, ripe fruit, and vanilla. This is an elegant wine with a long smooth finish.
